Issei Herr
A native of New York, cellist Issei Herr is committed to a diverse array music, both old and new. In 2016, Issei performed a duo concert in Mexico with violinist Rolf Schulte, in a program celebrating the centennial of composer Milton Babbitt. Other recent highlights include a concerto performance with Joel Sachs and the New Juilliard Ensemble in the New York premiere of Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky's Hearing Solution; past projects include a recording of the complete cello suites of Johann Sebastian Bach. Born into an artistic family, Mr. Herr began musical studies at the age of five. He is presently completing his undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School, where he is a student of cellist Fred Sherry.
